Make sure you change your stock bushings out to the firm HD bushings. I made that mistake and had to take it apart a week later and change them out because my bars were moving around too much. Lesson learned!

What's your state law on height? I have 16" on my RoadKing and this summer sucked for getting pulled over for $110 fines......I would go taller but can't afford the cool look cops hate here in Ontario...good luck with your purchase..the bars are well made and worth it.

I would also go with firm bushings and a dog bone top clamp for the stock riser...stay safe

I just ordered 13" gangsters, witch I was told are really 14". I got chrome 1 1/4" bars with the 1" steps. I am 6'3" and 275lbs, my sholders are level with 14" bars. I got this size for comfort and I wont need to change wires or cables as I have longer sets from my last bars. I also sent my rear shocks in to be cut down 1 1/4 inch. I think apes look best with a lowered rear end! It will be a couple weeks but I will throw up some before and after pics when I'm done.

I run the Flyin in 16" on my softail. I prefer the bend on the bars. I also run the 1.5" diameter version which is (at least for softails) 41" wide I think.

Go 1.5" and the bars are so fat they they are almost as big as the forks.

I prefer the look of the Flyin' Apes and like most, battled over which height bars to go with. I'm glad I went with the 16" bars.

If I were to do it over, I would get Gansta Apes because I would like to try less pull back

In Georgia, the law is something wierd like the bars cannot be 14 inches higher than the seat. I asked a cop about it and he said unless in an extreme example of really high bars, they don't enforce it.
