18 or 21??? Riding two up
Hey guys looking for a little input here. I have a 2012 Street Glide. I ride two up 95% of the time. I changed out the rear shocks out and went with Progressive 940s. Only reason I did that is my wife has lower a back problem. I going to put monotubes up front. Now my question is with all that said am I going to loose my ride confront if I put a 21 up front? I'm more worried about her loosing the comfort. Or should I just stay with a 18. Thanks in advance

I installed the 21" first then installed the front progressive lowering monotubes. I ride 2 up 90% of the time and the bike handles better at low speeds after lowering the front 1". If you don't lower the front the bike will leans quite a bit on the jiffy stand. In my opinion lowering the front is not required but I prefer it.

I'm not sure, it's going to depend on your wife. Back injuries are like women, they may have similar characteristics but no two are the same. Seat angle, rigidity, vibration...etc, are all bound to play a role, you'll just have to be willing to make changes till you make her happy. You're just as likely to make her less comfortable as you are more comfortable with each change. Some of the changes we made worked wonders for me but reduced my wife's comfort. Keep working till you both get there.
Good luck.
Good luck.

The 21" wheel didn't cause any ride issues for me. You will lose a bit of suspension when you lower the front 1". I noticed that more than the wheel. I doesn't bother her at all. Changing the rear shocks to ohlins was the biggest difference for my wife. She tells me how brilliant I was for doing that everytime we ride. Now if I could just get her to do that off the bike.

I have did the king tour pack and hammock seat. All of that help a lot but the stock shocks never hold air check all the lines for leaks and no leaks. Talked to my dealer and they just giving me the run around. So that's why I'm doing Progressives. I was told they'd be like the ultras or not?
