Heritage,
Get the Classic, chop it down to trick it out, comes with more of the bells and whistles, and I'm not sure it wouldn't be cheaper that way.

Mac's right about the bells and whistels.I was also going in to get the Standerd but I wanted the polished engine and the radio. When I saw the Classic and its price the choice was easy (Classic).

RE: Maybe you touring guys can answer, hopefully
Just rode one today and I thought it handled nice?? Regardless what your basically getting is a Road Glide with a batwing fairing, and lowered 1"...
Its not designed to be a touring bike so if thats what your after then the others are spot on get the Classic. It was designed to be a street cruiser that can handle the long weekend trip.
A few things I didn't like:
1. Mirrors have very limited adjustment
2. Feels very low at first (its not really but the perception is that your VERY low).
3. No passenger floor boards
4. Used the worse possible seat (looks great but kills your butt in short order).
5. No highway lites
Things I like:
1. Chrome, chrome chrome and the engine is blacked out (ala Road Glide)
2. Much better direct view over the batwing
3. Very clean! no gobbs of useless granny goods (the new tail lite cover is awesome)
4. New radio accepts GPS (very nice if you travel)
5. New wheels are a huge improvement
Bottom line is I'm a Road Glide guy, and if/when I replace my Glide it will be with another like item.
If I was to purchase a new street glide it would have to be fitted with passenger boards, chopped tour pack w/full backrest, and some type of highway lite to get more lite out front. With these few adds it would be a great tour ride.
This of course is just my observation, so feel free to form your own opinion........ T
