Progressive Shocks
#2
Shocks are like a what oil topic. I pondered the same thing for way too long. Ended up with Ohlins and the wife is happy which of course makes my life happier. Do some searches and good luck on deciding.
I really wish I had decided last year I was just too skeptical the little extra money was worth it. I have no doubt now.

It's been an hour now, how about a report on the JRI's?
Really, please do keep us posted or send me a PM. I know it takes some time to dial in new shocks.
I currently have the 940's and am looking at some of Howard's stuff. But want to maintain the ride height on my SG.

I preferred the 440s with standard springs to the 940s with heavy-duty and standard springs. (I weigh #215). I never tried the 944's.
The 440's were actually pretty good. They had a good ride, and didn't bottom out. I could never get the 940's to provide a compliant ride and not bottom. So my recommendation among Progressive shocks is their 440s with standard springs, if you're not more than about 215-220. If you go more than that, or ride two-up more than once in a while, the heavy duty springs might be better. Progressive will swap springs. You take your shocks off, and ship them in. Cost is about 50-60 bucks, depending on your proximity (shipping) to the SoCal factory...
