Default Adding vented lowers to my '06 RG

I found the perfect set in classifieds. Right color, local, price is OK. BUT (always with the BUT) they are on a SG and everyone says they're different. I do know the vented won't work with my fairing mounts as is. But if I upgrade to the new style fairing mounts here:

58454-10 Mount, LH/Frng - LWR
58460-10 Mount, RH/Frng - LWR
58530-10 MTG BRACKET - Frng

would that allow me to use these lowers.? Thanks in advance. Trying to get ready for winter

You might also have to cut about 1-1/2 inches off of each lip of the lowers if they are older than 11's, not hard to do, I had to do the same thing. (The cut allows you to use the engine guard mounts).

Exactly. On the earlier models, FLT lowers are TALLER than Road Glide lowers and will not fit without cutting, regardless of the mounts you use.

Is that on the inside lip where the lower goes over the crash bar? Is is visible?

but he isn't talking about the flt lowers, he is talking about the vented fairing lowers. and unless they are the old style, they will not require any cutting. if they are the old style, the only thing that will need cutting is the small part that goes over the crash bar. he'll have to make those shorter. if they are newer than around 05, he should be fine.

I've read that if you just change the fairing support to this one from Hell's Foundry, they'll fit right on. Also, they claim in their write-up, that the vented lowers will fit.

Maybe I just lucked out, but I put a set of used lowers on my 06 SG and they just bolted right on.

PS: sorry I misread original post.
