Started in Cape Breton, Canada (near Dundee) in 2009 at 5 am their time, rode to Winchester, Va, arriving around 5 am EST. Did a total of 1430 miles in little over 24 hours.
Rode to Janesville, Wisconsin from Winchester, Va last year in 20 hours through some brutal Chicago traffic, around 1100 miles total.

Default Iron Butt

This spring did the Border to Border Insanity, Mexico to Canada in 22 hours 42 minutes. Last Year did the Coast to Coast (50cc) in 46 hours 36 minutes. Probably would have never made it had I not been on a Road Glide. Have also done the Bun Burner gold (1500 in 24 hours) and a few others. The only really tough one was the Border to Border Insanity because we covered the first 400 miles on secondary roads from San Louis Rio Colorado, Mexico (down south of Yuma) to Las Vegas before hooking onto I-15 for the ride north into Canada. But they are all Just an excuse for a ride in my book.

I did the SS 1000 in 2000 on a Vulcan Namad. Very windy and almost beat me to death.
In 2001 on a BMW LT I completed the BBG, it was a piece of cake. I rode from Cedar Rapids, IA to Cheyenne, WY and back.

Following are the guidelines for earning an Iron Butt Association Pin and License Plate Back and a Certificate of Completion for a 1,000 mile (or more) ride in 24 hours (SaddleSore 1000) or 1,500 miles in 36 hours (Bun-Burner 1500). It is possible to complete both the SaddleSore 1000 and Bun-Burner 1500 on the same ride. For example, in the first 24 hours you ride 1,000 miles and then continue on the second day and ride another 500 miles or more.
Yes, that can be done.
