The stock Dunlop's on the 10 Ultra are about gone at just over 22,000 miles.
Have a new set in the garage from a 20% off sale the dealer had last Feb. on tires to put on this winter. Stayed with the Dunnies. Never had that many miles on a rear tire ever before.
Your '10 Ultra uses a much larger Dunlop D408, while the OP has an '08 with the old frame. The newer generation of stock Dunlops seem to be more durable than the older D402.
I got 11,000 out of my 402 on my 2008 FLHRC . i have a Dunlop Elite 3 MU90B-16 on the rear now . hoping i get at least 20,000 so far it handles great .
Thumbs up on Dunlop Elite 3's. Used to run Avon Venom X's but they got to damn expense & didn't last after motor build, yeah I ride hard & fast. Hated the stock Dunlops & swore I'd never use Dunlops again as handling sucked but local wrench swore by E3's so I tryed them, rear last year & front last month. Handling is great & so far wear is real good, have 6,000 on rear & still has lots of tread. My last two Avon rers only got about 5,000 & were shot.

Reason: extra info
try to get your money back for the cams, saying that it has caused premature wear on the back tire. normally you would have gotten 25000 miles on the tire, you lost half the life because of the cam. maybe get a lawyer, as well

Good thoughts. I'm sure there is some opportunity for pain and suffering in the mix, too.
iclik - Most of the improved mileage of the 408's is not from there being 180 cross section it is the dual compound that accounts for most. I put a dual compound on the Buell that was stock 180's and it looks like it also will do double what the original rear tire did.

I'd love to do this, but I can't wipe the shitty grin off of my face after I got the 255's installed . . .
Thanks for the advice from all. I think I'm down to the E3 and the MCII.
