2 things:

1) I called Dunlop customer service today to ask if the American Elite front tire (130/80 B17)on would cause any issues when used with the stock 180/65 B16 Harley rear tire (D407)

I was told 2 things

1) Mixing the American Elite tire with the Harley tire will not be a problem, no tracking issues or handling problems.

2) In January the American Elite tire will be available in the 130/70 B18 tire to replace the Harley D408.


2)I have a 2010 street glide (18 in front tire) I picked up a matching 17 inch street glide front wheel with rotors, as my front tire is in need of being replaced (rear won't need to be replaced until next year and by then both tires will get replaced at that time.

For those that have gone from a 17" front tire to an 18" one or the other way is there any difference in ride quality or control between the 2 sizes, I am not concerned about what brand you use or changed to just the difference between the "low profile" 18" tire and the more common 17" tire, in terms of ride quality, performance.

Any input is appreciated.

 

just had new dunlop d408f put on due to dryrot with 2541 miles. hope new one is better.
