It's strange though, they did a neat job. No over spray. and formed well. Maybe this is their SOP. No harm done. But I'd ask; Why?.

I've lost two covers since 2010. This is what I think also. I think they siliconed or glued the covers on rather then replace them. They were probably a little loose during the service so they took care of it for you...Yep thats Fkd up for sure!

A dab of silicon I can understand, but to cover the entire bolt? You have to look at it and say look at that!

+1 its black silicone that they used to try and stick the covers on with. should come off with a little..ok a lot of elbow grease.

The problem is that 2010 had a recall and they used a recall specific part that included covers for these fasteners that are entirely unique to the recall part. The recall part has no part number in the Harley parts database and cannot be ordered by a customer. And you definitely can't order the plastic bolt covers separately that are part of the recall kit. So if the shop misplaced your covers they probably decided to either fake them with the plastic dip **** or do that AND use the standard part. Trust me - I lost one of the cover parts from the recall. I've been down this road myself. I ended up leaving the covers off on both sides.

My Dealer ordered me a new cover on two different occasions. Mine is a 2010 Street Glide?

Rickr, you had them order the covers specific to the recall kit?? If so could you get the part numbers please. I have never had them and would like to get the covers for my bike.
