Dealer Plasti Dip Front Fuel Tank Bolts ??

Page 1-11 in the 2011 (what I have) service manual shows replacement at 50k.
Not sure about 12's or 13's....don't have one of those manuals yet.

If someone is over aggressive removing the covers I guess they could rip the attaching groove off the back of them. Then you would need glue or silicone to hold them on.
If they did rip I would just replace them. I'm very picky and gluing the covers back on seems a little cheap for a $20k + bike.
I'm just saying I wouldn't glue them on, no offence intended.

I've had these tanks off dozens of times on several different bikes. If properly installed they don't come off....at least I've never lost one and never had one I installed come off any of my buddy's bikes. That being said, I have seen them come off if damaged or improperly installed. Still no reason for the dealership to make such a mess on the OP's tank mounts.

I have the chrome tank hardware kit so they did not put the covers that came with the kit on mine when they did the recall. The bolts have rusted so bad that I now want to ditch them and will not return to using them. I wanted the covers and cannot get just the covers for that kit. SO I have to use the original covers which were a rubber like material. THEY DON'T FIT!! I had to trim a little of the rubber and may have to use a dab of silicone to keep them in place!
