Thinking of trading in my Dyna

Thinking of trading in my Dyna
I bought a new Superglide Custom in June after not riding for 30 years. I've put about 4k on the bike and really love it. Trouble is my wife has also loved riding and the bike isn't great for 2 up riding. So rather than trying to customizing it for more comfort i am probably going to trade it in. I will probably rent a Road King and Street Glide to decide which I like better.
In any event, I don't "need" a new bike until spring and there seems to be a lot of 2012 leftovers out there right now. It seems logical that I should be able to get a better deal on a leftover than a 2013 right? How much wiggle room do the dealers have? What is the best time to pull the trigger on a deal?

The best time is when it's right for you. Obviously the dealers get "more wiggle room" the longer a bike sits, but if you are going to wait around, you might be stuck choosing between a year old bike you could live with or a 2013 you actually want, and end up spending the money anyway. If the dealer has a 2012 you like, make an offer, wait a few weeks then repeat the offer. The third time could be the charm, unless someone swings in and swipes it form under you.

You have the ability to be in control of the deal since you are in no hurry to trade. Go to a few dealers to get prices and try not to act too anxious. As far as the 2012 or 2013, there is not any major differences. When you find the price that is right for you, jump on it. Do your research on prices before you go. I got my 2013 for cheaper than another dealer was offering me for a 2012 SG. Good luck.

By spring you may not find left over bikes and the prices will be at a premium If I was you I would start shopping now dont expect them to give you market value on your trade as they are going to sit on that prob till spring. Not knocking the SG or RK but if you wife is really into it like mine you may also want to look at EG it has a lot more comfort for passenger and less to buy later You will be pleased no matter what model I still have my Dyna and am on my 2nd glide

Seems like end of season and winter is a good time. 13s' just came out. I dont know what all but I cant imagine much has changed from 12' - 13' on the street glide or road king. In my experience if you are trading, the trade in value lowers in the winter same as the price of the bike for sale. But sometimes you can get a good trade/buy deal. You can haggle better in the winter cause less are buying. And they wanna get rid of the new stock so they can get more bikes next year from Harley. all my opinion. ive done no research.
