Gerbing Vest and HD Temp Controller?
#11
All excellent advice/info, thank you!
As it turns out, my dealership won't let me exchange it (one week old), as it is considered a warranty claim and I need to go through Gerbing if it's not working. I may try to get my hands on a Gerbing dual temp controller and try them side by side before I begin the warranty claim.

Ditto to the remarks that the variable controller turned on full should turn you into a cooked lobster. While there may be some loss over connecting directly without any controller, it should be a marginal loss at best. If you are not sweating bullets when it is turned on over 1/2 way, I concur that the controller may be miss matched to your jacket. Return the controller and order one from Gerbings or someone who stocks Gerbings. It is easier to match the controller to the jacket than return the jacket to match the H-D controller.

I have all the Gerbings gear you can have except for the vest (have the jacket liner) so I have talked to their customer service a few times. I was having the same problem with one thing heating and another not so well. Inspect the male plug ends and make sure they are split. If not they will not heat correctly. There should be a slight gap between the 2 prongs of the male plug.
