Default Silverstar Bulbs

I would like to get everyone's opinion on the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs. Is there a significant difference? Did you also change out your passing lamps?

I believe the 9003 fits the headlight, what about the passing lamps?

Best prices found on the net?

Thanks guys!

I have PIAA head light bulbs (cause of dual head light upgrade) and Silverstar passing lamps. I love them. Have since installed them in my car. The best prices I have found on the net is on Ebay I could have got a pair for what I paid for 1 locally. I used the H3 in mine, I bought upgraded halogen passing lamps.

I've reciently found out that if you don't want to pop for the H-3 lense assy's from H-D that you can re-use the stock lense assy and upgrade the bulb to a 886 bulb, 50 watt halogen vise the stock 881 of 27 watts.

Sure wish that I'd found that out before hand, could have saved some money in the long run!

I don't know for sure if Sylvinia makes a SilverStar or Ultra SilverStar for the 886 bulb! But others like GE and Phillips of the 50 watt version should be easy to find in the 886 bulb at your local auto parts store.

according to the consumer review tests on these, you are dishing out money for not much of an improvement .

i have purchased and installed on a saab , the piaa and the others and as they burn out ,which they do at a rate faster than oe , i am staying with oe.
because ,i did not see much of a difference other than a slightly brighter light when you place the light on a white wall.............but not really much for the money

now, if you could increase the wattage out ,yes then it is worth it .but modern cars and motorcycles with computers do not like this.
in an older car ,yes ,if you have the adequate wiring ,i have melted wires on a honda and a mb from overdoing the watts .

55 watts with the output of 100 watts ,oh yeah ?

make sure you get a return policy on them . i did not get it and got stuck with them.

now ,again ,it depends on the car that you have or the bike,

and remember paper holds all you can put on it . so, ask for a trial test with return options.
