I had swapped to their H11s in my dual bulb since the stock lighting suxed so bad. Well they are brighter. But no one tells you that they measure the life expectancy in hundreds on hours.Try to find one on the road. WAY brighter and the life expectancy is measured in thousands of hours. So I figured it'll pay for itself over time.
I do use the Silverstar 55 watters in the running lights. I wouldn't think twice about using them if I still had the single bulb. The HID kit kinda makes the Silverstars look yellow though.

I've reciently found out that if you don't want to pop for the H-3 lense assy's from H-D that you can re-use the stock lense assy and upgrade the bulb to a 886 bulb, 50 watt halogen vise the stock 881 of 27 watts.
Sure wish that I'd found that out before hand, could have saved some money in the long run!
I don't know for sure if Sylvinia makes a SilverStar or Ultra SilverStar for the 886 bulb! But others like GE and Phillips of the 50 watt version should be easy to find in the 886 bulb at your local auto parts store.

I've got to appologise, I have not researched it, for myself, it was to have been good info from the source that I've obtained it!!
I hope that it has not caused much trouble!
I have two of those cut ends that you show in the picture as well. Mine are from converting over to the H-3's.
Did you convert over to the H-3's?

J&PCycles http://www.jpcycles.com/search.aspx?...&store=AllHD lamps that are a direct fit. I have the H4 90/100 wattin my head light and the H3 50 watts in my driving lights. And, no they do not over heat, melt the lens or overload the electrical system. In fact I have my driving lamps wired to stay on on all the time both on low and high beam, unless I turn them off. They really light up the night, and if adjusted properly no one flashes you, and you can really be seen in the daylight!
