Default Sad and a bit pissed

My FLTRX is a little over three weeks old; only 600 miles on her. I love this bike and plan on putting as many miles on it as I can. Still riding that new bike high even.

So today when I got out of work and noticed my left bag looked a little funny, I was a bit concerned. Upon closer inspection, I notice that the outside corner is pretty chewed up, like paint missing down to the fiberglass and scratches the length of the outside corner. The left side turn signal lens is also scratched and scuffed. Pipes are fine though, as they are below the standard height of a car bumper. It couldn't have been at work, as cars can't get into the motorcycle parking area, so I believe it happened the previous night while I was staying at my lady's apartment.

I come to the realization that someone had backed into my bike and started looking to see if they would have been decent human beings and left a note. Nope, nothing. At this point, I'm pretty deflated, then the anger and hatred for these people is growing. What a bunch of worthless *****.

It sucks, as there's really nothing I can do about it. I can probably touch up the bare fiberglass areas with touchup paint (any good sources?) and it won't be too noticeable, but it'll always be F'ed. I guess something like this was going to happen eventually, I would have just hoped that it would have been a few years down the road, not within the first month. I can only hope that karma repays them tenfold.

Sorry for the rant, just venting.

Sucks, as I just stated in another thread, another time an alarm might have helped.

Damn, Dude. Really sorry to hear that. Maybe there is a way to turn lemons to lemonade? Maybe insurance covers hit and run? Maybe it's an excuse to go with stretched bags? Maybe you can search where you think it happened and find damage on a car in the parking lot?

If you have full coveage insurance you can turn it into them, they should pay to have it repaired.....Sucks big time to have some douchebag do that and not have the decency to leave a note with at least a phone# and name.

Thats weird someone else just posted a similar thread when they went to a diner and came out and found they had been hit.

Anyway sucks man, especially on a brand new bike.

Ask the dealer at your 1k service if you are going in for it what you can do, maybe they can get you the paint or recommend a local body guy that they use for you to call.
You were going to put money into the bike at some point, it may as well be now.

Maybe it wont cost as much as you think to get it repaired and you can call it your first mod, look for a bright side, at least your bike will be new again while it is still new.

Sorry to hear about your bike. I had someone back into mine while I was checking into a hotel. Bent the front fender bad. My deductible was the same as a new fender. Never did get it fixed, wish I had. No name, no note, no video. Hit and run sucks. Sorry again about your bike. Get it fixed, you will be happier.

Checkthe car bumpers of all the cars in the parking lot of the apartments. If nothing turns up get with your insurance company. A good excuse to go with extended bags. People should have the ***** to try and locate the owner or at least leave a note with contact info.

Whoever hit it probably drove away in fear, thanking God the owner of the bike didn't see it happen. That's exactly why I am VERY picky about where I park my bike. Talk to your insurance company, let them work for YOU for a change haha!
