Certainly understand your anger/frustration, but touch it up ASAP + don't let it take the joy of owning a new bike away. Hell, you could drag a Road Glide a mile behind a Peterbilt + it would still be GORGEOUS!

Anyway sucks man, especially on a brand new bike.

Yeah, that was me.
Luckily most of mine buffed out. You have a brand new bike, take it to a body shop and get it done properly or you'll be pissed forever. Call your insurance co just to make them aware in case the damage is over your deductible.
People suck and will try to get away with all kinds of ****.

Definitely call the insurance company... I'm sure the locals will suggest replacement, get the extended ones then. Even if you have a $500 deductable, HD bags painted are still in the $1000-1500 range... add a couple more bucks in there and you got extended ones, or add the extenders while fixing the one. Find the silver lining in the dark cloud.

Why do you pay insurance premiums? A dealer insurance estimate is for replacement of damaged parts - not repair.

Next time you are at your lady's apt, check out the other vehicles for scuffs and scrapes - look at the corners/edges of bumpers and body. They won't admit it but you will know which vehicles to stay away from.

Sorry to hear this happening to someone yet agan! I disagree with the Insurance stuff though. As bad as it may seem, it probably would not cost that much to repair out of pocket and for the peace of mind since its a new bike, I'd repair it. Lots of very good body shops could repair the bag fairly inexpensively and the turn signal can be replaced just as easily. Filing an insurance claim for something in this price range would likely cause your insurance to eat up anything you may save in the interim.

That's why I always pull on the sidewalk if I can.

Disagree - most likely will be considered comp, not collision. Minimal impact on premiums.

EXACTLY my sentiment!

My bike is either in the garage, or on the sidewalk in front of an establishment. If "they" don't like it, they can **** up a rope! When people learn how to drive, which will never happen--then I'll park in a legal spot.
