Hello All,

I want to validate my understanding that the 02 and later models have the upgraded hydraulic cam tensioners and the upgraded swingarm?

I believe 01 was the last year for spring loaded cam tensioner and different style swingarm.

My 2004 had the spring loaded tensioners. I believe 2010 was the change over. Could be wrong on that. Also swingarm upgrade was later.

 

'06 was the first year of the hydraulic cam tensioner. The '02 will still have the spring tensioners.

'02 is known as a very good year as it still had the timken bareings and the forged crank. I also believe it had a beefed up swing arm, but the 2009 was the first year for the big touring bike frame change.

 

2007 was the first year of the hydraulic cam chain tensioners for softtail and touring bikes, 06 for dynas.
