Riding on the TC outside of Calgary doing 120kms with a semi alongside me,up ahead in my lane I saw something rolling across the road about 8ft long and 2" in diameter.I was thinking oh great,a peice of pipe,and I have no where to go.After much braking and trying to figure out an exit path,I realized it was one of those foam pool noodles.WOW...what a relief.But man it sure had my blood pumping.

But why did the alligator cross the road?

I ran over a opossums nose one time and I had a cow come out a ditch right in front of me. Locked both breaks and stopped looking at his side about one foot in front of me.

 

An armadillo, it just spun away..I kept it up.

 

Had a near miss with an armadillo. Swerved around him and out of the corner of my eye I see him about even with my knee. Apparently they jump straight up when startled. Weird.

 

I've been lucky so far I guess. No big (or small) animals so far.

i ran over a bench seat that flew out of a pontoon boat once. it was sitting cross ways in the road, kind of like putting a board on a cinder block and jumping it with a bicycle when you were a kid. the car in front of me swerved out of the way and i didn't see it until i was right in front of me. i never hit the brakes.....going about 55.

 

I came way too close to this little rascal. Not sure if that counts?
