Last week dealer offered $14000 for my 08 Ultra with 22k miles and a few goodies on trade-in on a 2013 RG. 52k miles is high for an 08. Average miles is 21K

Damn, can't think of the name right now but the other one, not KBB is what the dealer here uses. When I checked, the trade price was less than KBB.

I was offered $7,500 and $9,000 by two different dealers today on a possible trade. The bike is babied and looks fantastic. I see dealers offering to sell at $14,000. I figured they paid maybe $10,000-$12,000 for these bikes. Am I expecting too much or am I getting hosed, at these offers?
Hey thehueg:

We are neighbors, I live a couple of towns away from you.
I just ordered a 2013 FLHTC from American in Leominster for March delivery, and traded an '08 FLHTC. I really think that they treated me fairly.
I know it's not the same bike you have, but close.
They gave me a decent trade, including 1,000 and 5,000 service.
PM me if you want.

Sounds very low to me. I would check with other dealers and see what they offer.

Default Pricing your bike!

The value of any product is what people are willing to pay for it at a given place and time, not what some book says. Simple economics dictates that the value of anything is a function of supply and demand. More supply, lower price and vice versa. If you didn't own a bike and someone offered to sell you your bike for what you were offered, would you buy it? If you didn't except his offer, you just did! IMHO, the best way to determine a bikes value is to check out ebay. It is the largest sampling of real life(and not dealer generated) supply and demand you could possibly have access to. Check out the actual bids offered(that's the demand) vs. how many bikes are sitting there with either no offers or reserves not being met(too much supply). Then you know what your bike is REALLY worth. BTW, I have bought 4 Harleys and sold 3 harleys on ebay. And no, I'm not a dealer! These were all personal use bikes. Good luck!

Never trade in a bike, Try to sell it on your own, Its not that hard to do, You will be up a few thousand dollars.

No dealer that I have worked at in the last 20 years has used Kelly Blue Book. They use nothing but NADA.
Kelly gives the victim, I mean buyer, a false sense of what their trade is worth.
