FYI - Fuel Moto Billet Backing Plate

I have since ditched those tubes and went with the DK Custom Breather Bolts. Since I haven't run the bike yet with them installed, I can't give my opinion on if they work as advertised. What I can say is that for what they cost, they should be made out of the same material as the Fuel Moto backing plate and not light weight aluminum. They say to torque them to 120-140 in/lbs but I was afraid that I would snap the heads off, so I just snugged them down.

I had my Arlen Ness Big Sucker modified like that and it worked great as far as sucking the blow-by into the intake. BUT, should all that crap be going in there???
I don't think so after reading a **** load of articles about the subject. If these breather bolts don't work out, I'm going to vent the heads to the ground as invisible as I can.

I bought this stage one setup from Fuel Moto a year and a half ago, I installed it as the instructions said and on the first ride after about 3 miles my bike was smoking like a coal train! one of the rubber hoses was pinched where it comes through the chrome cap and caused oil to be pushed to the intake and exhaust valves blowing the seals, and both head and base gaskets. $1309.51 later I got it back from the dealer and it had a SE stage one air filter on it. I called Fuel Moto and was told Jamie was on vacation and they would tell him what happened and I never head back from them. I think its in my tool box and if anyone wants it just pay shipping and its yours!!
I decided to pull the entire AC kit off to see if I had put something on incorrectly (almost impossible, not much to it). I found that the breather hoses were pinched where they came thru the chrome trim caps. They weren't pinched entirely shut but they were definetly pinched.
So I cleaned everything up, pinched the tubes back into shape, and reinstalled everything EXCEPT that I left the trim caps off this time.
No more blow-by.
I emailed Jamie but he said that he had never had a similar case. I asked if he would mind if I posted to the Forum and he said he was fine with that. I never posted about it because I never saw anyone else complain of pinched hoses with the Fuel Moto kit. That was this time last year if I remember correctly.
This is NOT a slam at the Fuel Moto product. I still have it on my bike and haven't had anymore blow by since I removed the chrome trim caps. The Fuel Moto kit is a nice product and dealing with them was a very good experience.

Your saying the stock HD pre-formed tubes got pinched off? Can't see how since their pretty solid and the hole in the chrome cover is about the same diameter as the tube.
I didn't have that problem with mine. I did find out that when you insert the tubes trough the backing plate, they have to stop even with the interior surface of the plate or they would drip oil onto the bottom of the filter element.
Once I located the tubes correctly, the oil rolled into the TB intake and was sucked into the TB while moving.

Yeah they were definetly pinched. I took the chrome caps off and the problem went away. I checked the hoses a few days later and they were still not pinched with the chrome caps off.
Since they were pinched it looked like the oil was building up in the barrels where the breather bolts are located instead of the oil being discharged as it was supposed to. Once enough oil got built up in the barrels where the breather bolts are it was dripping out and that was the blow-by.
Chrome caps gone, pinches relieved, no more blow-by. Jamie said they had not seen this before so maybe my backing plate grooves were machined a little shallow. I don't know.... I just know I don't have blow by anymore.
