"My question, they are such a simple item, why not make them here in the US and make them better quality? With tax they are $95bux and probably the same quality (and made in same factory) as the JCWhitney $45.00 ones!"

What a freakin' genious! Why don't you start that company and make'em! How hard can it be?

I agree 100%, buy American. And here we all are, complaining on our "made in china" computers.

Thanks for the review & wow...they're pretty pi$$ poor, even for China's standards. Guess that's what we get for shipping employment off to the far East...

Yup, lol.
Lets face it, if we have tv's, pc's cell phones etc we all obviously cant own 100% USA made items.
But had I known about the lowers prior to buying them, I would have looked at the others out there such as Desert Dawgs...
I guess I just expected a perfect fit and a quality set of soft lowers from HD.

Trust me, I know not everything can be USA but... anyhow.
I love the concept, and the design, (my wife actually got them for me for our 13th wedding Anniversary). Seems the dealer she ordered them from was back ordered, stopped at another dealer, they were out too.
They called another dealer that had 1 last set, so I went and got them.

Fit was so so... right side went on no prob, left side the fit is crappy... and since they have the bar & shield logo, its easy to see its a bad fit.
Im sure they will wear in, etc...

I go to pull the left zipper down (not hard at all) and the zipper pull pops off. Mind you, prior to this I see a tag on the inside, says "Harley Davidson" and also says "Made in China".

I have hear they work and cant wait to try them on the road, but man, what a disappointment...
Your right about the fit, sorry but it looks like crap. I would not put them on my ride. And if there made like crap why keep them. There are other companies that make these and better quality. Just return them and use the money to buy a nice set. It will make your bike more enjoyable and better looking. Those do nothing for your bike. If you keep them your just endorsing Harley for making crap from China and putting more Americans out of work.

I have a set of the older vinyl version. They really extend my ridin season as it cools down. Mine mount with snaps. They're not pretty but they are effective.

You saved me disapointment as I intended to pick up some to help stretch the season here in Michigan. I do not need anything that I know is substandard and not up to doing the job.

Looks like a well made product and made in N. America (not USA, but close enough). Like the 1-piece construction too.

Its a nice product, I have one, but just bought hard lowers.

I think the Airlite ones look a lot better than the HD ones.
