Just looked at my 06 and even if your bags are locked and you do the retro fit with the 1/2 bolt on the fender speed nut and all. All the thief's need to do is have a 1/2 gear wrench with them and they can unbolt the brackets that hold these bag mounts to the frame right below the seat!!!!.

Now on my 2010 Limited this mod will work.

I guess if you were real lazy you could just go with 1 bolt on each side and leave 1 pin in.. But it will probably only save you 30 seconds..

Not to be difficult but if its this easy to remove the bolts I ask again whats the difference if you just lock the lids. Seems you would have to do something more then just put a nut and bolt on.

What about a carrige bolt from the outside of saddlebag with a nut on the inside? Thieving little bastards cant grip a flat rounded off head.

I was just thinking about that myself. And wingnuts on the inside. I think this would be the way to go.

This sounds like a good idea. I think that if you make it reasonably difficult for any theif they will move to an easier target anyway...

If you went with a nylon lock nut on the inside, and your bags locked. They wont be able to do anything with just the outside bolt.
