Excellent! Congrats. You're gonna love riding the Road King. I can't tell if those are the stock bars or not. But that will probably be your first mod if they are stock.

What kind of bars do you all switch them too; apes?

Apes or beach bars... I think apes and the King are made 4 each other.. Spring I will be putting on 16" ones.

I'm not sure how comfortable some 16-18" apes are, i might go with like 14" ones. Im 6'0, 205lbs, i think i just need to find someone has some and sit / ride their bike.

Yeah, it's gonna take some sitting on a few if you can to decide what you like. I have the Heritage (style) bars on mine. Way better than stock, for me. But I wish I had gotten either 12" or 14" apes. With 14s, you'll have to have the wiring/cables/brake lines extended usually. That can be quite a bit of expense unless you do it yourself. Even then, the parts are kind of high. Bars like mine, and 12" apes should be good with the stock cables/wires.

Apes that hit you at or just below shoulder level are very comfortable. Some folks really like higher, but I'm not one of those. I'd never want my hands above my shoulders.

Congrats on the fine looking ride. I recently bought a 2012 RKC, first thing I did was change the bars. Wild 1's 14", perfect height for me and very comfortable.

TI06, do you have some pics of your RK with the 14" apes, how tall are you?
