Default s&s 551 cams

My indy is trying to talk me into s&s 551 easy start cams,i currently have a 2012 flhx with a 103 i am looking for low end torque however i do occassionally crack the wick over 4000 rpms i am just looking for some real world experience with these cams vs other cams like tw222 or se255

You don't need easy start cams because you have built compression releases.

You might also want to also consider a TMan 555 Torqster or an Andrews 57H. Both of these are designed to work best in 103s with no head work.

IMO the SE255 leaves a lot on the table compared to these other cams...
It wasn't designed to produce max HP or torque. It was designed to be EPA legal...

tw-555 or 222, depending on how much torque you want, the 222's will give a bit more torque but at the expense of hp, both will increase torque and hp.

Look into Dave Mackie 510L cams. Have them in my 103 and they work great!

I really like what the 551 Easy Start cams did for my bike. Great roll on at highway speed. Just an overall nice cam for a mild street bike.

maybe he has 551 in stock and wants to "move it", seems like he is not up to date(researching here like you)
