Are all baffles 3.5" different?

Do all 3.5" mufflers have different baffles?
I have a "long core" baffle in my 3.5" Bassani muffler. I'd like a shorter, less restrictive baffle that would fit. I can't cut the baffle because then it will just rattle around inside.
Any ideas?
