Im running the same oil since first oil change. 20w50 royal purple synthetic. i hooked up a gage yesterday before i went home from work and i had 25 psi at start up. But what bothers me is the light coming on and now this morning when i got to work i put it on the stand and the pressure went from 10 to 0 quick. and there was a little rattle in the top end. please help if you know what i can do.

Running 4-5 psi at idle wouldn't necessarily worry me...mine does that all the time on hot days...unless the oil pressure warning light came on. I've had 2 separate techs tell me don't worry until then. If it were me I would take it to your dealership or local indy, whomever you use, and let them check it sooner rather than later. Lack of oil pressure, obviously, is not something to mess with.

Not sure where the pickup is for the pump, in the sump, but your description sure sounds like it is low.

I would stop running the motor till you find out the scoop. I had some concerns on my 09 S/G a couple months ago. Oil pressure was low at idle. 5 psi and 30psi at say 2,000 rpm,s. They said that was normal. They did say if the light ever came on to shut it down fast. I would think like car if it doesn't have pressure it won't run but that could be wrong.
