Default Switch from Dual to Single Front rotors?

Is it necessary when switching from Dual to Single front brake rotors to upgrade to a 13 inch rotor and 6 piston caliper? Or can I simply remove the right side caliper and rotor? What does this process entail and does having ABS matter in doing this?

I went to single Hawg Halters 6 piston caliper with stock rotor on my 04 FLHTC and it stops very good.I can honestly say I didnt notice a loss in stopping. The 6 piston caliper has almost twice the pad area of the stock caliper.I notice my rotor wears much faster ,even with Lyndall Z pads.

I'm very happy with my twin 13" rotors and 6-pot calipers!

Keep it twins unless absolutely necessary it will reduce braking if you don't believe it then record you breaking distance now and then with single and then you can come back to the forum and advise people against it.

Yes, there will be many to berate you. From my personal experience, RGC with single 13" rotor and six piston pm caliper. There is a difference in the feel of the setup...it is definitely not better than two brembos, but it is not worse either. I ride my bike the same as I did before I changed it, I do not naby it at all. No, I would not take a rotor off my zx-10r track bike, as a matter of fact I would add a third rotor if possible. But I dont barrel down road atl back straight at 180 endoing into 10a on my harley. Do it! And the abs still works
