I use a 10' X 10' piece of plastic sheeting. I lay it out, drive the car or bike on it to hold it in place and makemy mess. Any spills can be wiped up with a rag and reused over and over. Nothing will seep through to the floor or driveway.

I've always used newspaper but put lots down because it soaks in quickly. I usually put 2-3 whole sections down under my drain pan.

if you really want to do it right and no bothers go to a marine store and get some oil/diesel pads .

they are super absorbent and are used to suck up any oil or diesel spills on boats.

usually placed on the bilge under usual leakage areas if there are any.

coast guard loves them
