Thanks all!! Definitely sounds like I need the switch replaced. Now, just getting it over to the stealer to make the change.

Tks again!! This is why this forum is so great!

Another option would be just order one online. It does not take long to change it. I can't imagine it being much money. Not worth loosin a 1/2 day at the dealer. What part of NC are in you in. I just had the same problem on a old bike. It took about 15 minutes to replace it and bleed the back brake.

North of Charlotte. I've got to get it inspected anyway, so I'll probably just take it to them and have them do it all at the same time. I've got an itch to trade up anyway, so give me a chance to see what they may do on a trade.

Tks!

New Bike would be nice. I live South of Charlotte in Union County, actually South of Monroe.

Default Didn't work

I was reading through trying to figure out why my rear brake light stays on and cruise won't engage. I picked up a rear brake switch and swapped it out yesterday. Still having the same issue, any ideas?

did you check the front switch? the front brake lever has to be tight to the switch housing or the brake light will stay on.

That did it, took the controls off and cleaned them up. Put it all back on and the light is off. Dirt road living lol. Sand and vibration must have been the culprit. Thanks Bagga

Funny any dealer wouldn't know better than that. those switches go bad all the time. i had one go bad on my '06.Opposite problem though,it wouldn't turn the brake light on,therefor wouldn't turn the cc off. Lot's of old cars used the same type brakelight switch, and they go bad too. Guys on the Studebaker forum were using Harley switches as an 'upgrade' to the stock switch.
There's a cheaper alternative available from auto parts stores, but I can't remember what it is.
