Default Need a tire - 2012 RKC

So the dealer wants $450 for a new back tire installed..geez. I local shop said Harley is the only one who can get the Wide whitewall tire...

Any of you guys have any luck other then a ridiculous amount through the dealer.

call around.

last time I needed a rear for the 09 ( blackwall) the indys here in PHX were at about $180 ride in, ride out.( american elite)

Arrowhead H-D had a sale on that got me an OTD of $172 ! for the OEM- I was shocked at the competitive pricing.

the WW may complicate things for you, but use your phone.

One thing when buying tires ( esp from indy) check the DOT date code, and make sure they are not selling you a blem

I guess thats why they call them the Stealership. I'm kind of in the same boat. I need a rear tire, but I have the thin ww. Local dealers want $400+,unless I go with a blackwall AE. Myrtle Beach HD has $230 tire & install on any tire. I know you are in Tx,but that is about the best price I have ever seen.

Yep - I ran into the same thing a couple of months ago for my 2011. There is no WWW available in this size anywhere but the dealer. I call and spoke with the Dunlop rep - they expect another model available to non-HD dealers sometime next year.

For now, I used Latus Harley - they were the best price ($290-ish I think) and my Indy put it on for $20.

If you find a better deal, please post about it - I would like to find them cheaper than that.

I bought a set front & rear from Lake Shore Harley www.lshd1.com
1 43230-09 HD HDT D407 180/65B16 WW $293.95 $243.16 $243.16

rear was $243.16, ($293.95 is the list price) free shipping because I bought numerous other items
local dealer charged $70 (1 hour labor) to do the job on the rear

Why does it matter which one? How does that help me find an answer?

I called a couple dealers..

The problem is Dunlop only makes this "Wide White Wall" for Harley, the indy shops can't order it.

Seems the other dealers are in the same range $400-$450

my dealer charges full list for the '11 RKC tire, about $310 (43230-09) + $20 install on all his tires. Add new tube ($32), rim strip ($7) and tax and your at about $400 total.
