Default Installed HD Detachable Solo Rack

I installed the HD Detachable Solo Rack today and thought some folks might want to see it. I had the Motherwell Solo Rack, but wanted something a little larger and sturdier. I think the Motherwell is primarily cosmetic, and had some doubts as to whether it would handle a loaded duffle. The HD part is larger and appears sturdier (and 3X more expensive, of course!).

I like it! It has a nice, clean look to it. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Pastor John,

Did you already have the detachable hardware in place previously or did you have to install it for this rack? If so, how hard was it to install? I've read earlier threads about it being a real pain as some of these simple looking projects are. Any help is appreciated.

I already had the docking hardware on from when I added the detachable sissy bar. Installation of the docking hardware was tedious enough that I let my dealer have that job. About an hour of labor.

rbtgold, that's a great looking piece of chrome! Only problem for me is that it looks like I would need to get the wrenches out to add the passenger pillon. Where did that rail come from - who makes it, and what is the cost? Thanks for posting!

the solo seat rail is detachable in a matter of minutes. there's 2 fender nuts and 2 socket head screws. its an easy switchover. now.....where did i buy it??? well, here's a shameless plug for myself..i make em!!!! (i own a specialty metal fab shop in milwaukee). shoot me an email for details. o yes....it
specifically fits the road king classic w/ hd sundowner solo bucketor mustang solo seat.

I put on the same rack John (07 FLHRC). I really like the look with a solo seat. Mounting HW wasn't too bad to install (maybe I just got lucky).
Where did you get the Chrome Strips on the top of your bags?

I like that Seat Rail RbtGold. What would you take for one of those?
