Default SE Air Breather Question

Hey folks,

Did a bit of homework on this question and am pretty sure that I know the answer but thought I would double check with you folks.

I have 2011 FLHX and am looking to change from the stock air breather. I have a friend you has P/N 29478-05A which says it will fit an 02-07 touring. I then went online and checked the new air breather and it says 08 touring and up. Was there a change made from the 07 to the 08 which would not allow you to use the older air cleaner? I suspect that there was a change and that is why you cannot use it.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Kevin

I believe the bolt pattern is different on the throttle body where the backing plate attaches between the '07 and '08. At least thats what I found when I tried to mount an '08 air cleaner on my '07.

The bolt pattern on the 08 and later Touring bikes has a larger diameter.
