For all those who have the shorter ape hangers, were cable replacements necessary???

Have you adjusted the stock beach bars to find a more comfortable position?

I have heritage bars on my 2011 RGU and they fit me just fine. There was no cable changes.

I would go with either heritage bars or 14" apes. If you go apes you will be changing out all the cables. Apes on a king do look nice!

I replaced my bars with the road king high bars. Got me a little back and up. No changes unless you run the wiring inside the bars. I did. The only gripe I have are the bars are turned a bit more inside toward the heel of your hands but I'm not reaching forward over the tank to get to them.

I put Wild1 502 on my RK, 12 1/2" apes. Had to replace clutch cable and brake line. Will be swapping out to heritage this winter, just don't care for the apes.

Love my heritage bars...easy install and no new cables needed. Much more comfortable than my stock RK bars.

I agree with Race Face and No Show, while I really loved my beach bars and only found discomfort after a few hundred miles the Apes are sooooo much nicer. Its like adding power steering and they look great on the King

Heritage style bars worked wonders for me providing a much more comfortable riding position (no sore back or shoulders). No cable changes required.
