2007 Street Glide-how many miles per tank (5 gallon tank)
Just bought a 2007 street glide last week and was curious about the average miles per tank that other riders are getting on the 5 gallon tank before the "gas light" comes on.
As of right now, it seems to be coming on at about the 125 miles range which seems low. I do not know if it is bacuase it is a new bike and I am heavey handed on the throttle, or that is what is to be expected.
As I said, it seems low for a touring bike to me.
The mods I know it has are Rinehart exhaust and also has the HD screaming eagle tuner adjustment as I found it in the saddle bag. Was not sure what effect these may have on overall gas mileage.

Cass- No, I have not yet. To be honest I have only ran 2 tanks through it thus far, and they have been a mix of interstate and around town joy riding. Just trying to get a feel for the bike and have not looked at actual MPG's yet.
Was just curious as it seemed low for the fuel light coming on. If the fuel guage is accurate though, it still seems to have almsot a good 1/4 tank left almost when the light comes on.

The low fuel light on my '07 EGC comes on around the 145 mile mark. If I fill up soon after it comes on, it only takes about 3.3 gallons to fill. I think the five gallon tank holds a smidge more than five gallons so I have at least 1.7 gallons in reserve. My overall average is 44 mpg. Conservatively, I figure I can go 200 miles on a tank based on 40 mpg and a five gallon tank. Also I figure I could go 160 miles on a full tank and have a gallon left in the tank. I don't pay much attention to the gauge but it's around 1/4 or more when the light comes on. The light has been very consistent. I reset the trip odometer on every fill up and I'm looking for gas at around 160 miles regardless of the gauge or light.

Ive noticed that a recurved windshield (klockwerks)will add 30 miles to the range on highways, my range to empty usually reads 230 miles at fill up used to read 200 with the staight windshield, strictly highway.....@75 mph mine is a 11 103 SG with the stage one done.
