Default New Wheels - Rear Width 3.5" or 4.25"???

One last decision to make.....

On the 04 Road Glide I have the skinny drive belt so I could run the 3.5" or the 4.25" rear wheel. Bothwould run the same 150 rear tire. The 4.25" is $75 more. Handling would be the same just stands the side wall up a little. The 3/4" difference will make the dish a little deeper.

Here is mystruggle. Considering the total cost, I want to do the right thing the first time. The $75 is not abig deal if the 4.25" looks that much better. Considering it is a lowered bagger, you can't see much of the back tire/wheelanyway so.......3.5" or 4.25"????

I don't think it makes that much diff. I went with the 4.25 just in case I ever wanted to go with a larger tire, but I think the 150 looks fine

My rule of thumb is to use the widest rim that is allowed for that particular tire size. I happen to like the look of a short sidewall. I think the recommended rim size for a 150/70/18 tire is 3.5" - 4.5"
