don't really notice the scratches and nicks on mine...the dealer washes it when i have it serviced. i never really see them as i never clean or detail the thing. i do try and look at the oil dipstick every couple of thousand miles to see if there is any oil in the motor.
it is just a motorcycle--ride it 40 or 50 thousand miles and get another one.

I would have gone in house looking real sad and upset. When the wife ask what was wrong I would have told her my Harley broke and I needed a new one.

Been there done that and it hurts but lessson learned. You more than likely will never make that mistake again. Stick a bullet hole sticker over the booboo and ride it like it is until you make up your mind if you are going to repaint or not.

I was really pissed when I put the first ding on my old bike, it had 20k plus on it so I was pretty lucky. Had dings in the cowbells and light rings but no paint yet up the the point my wrench slipped. My current bike came with dings and gouges but I was still pretty bent when my buddies kis crashed her bicycle ito it and added another gouge. I stopped going there because no matter how many times you ask her to be careful around the bike she uses them for obstacles and my buddy does nothing. He asked why we do not come over and I told him why and now he is pissed.

I felt a lot worse when I pulled my FLHT out of my shed after the first winter I owned it... and every aluminum piece had corrosion on it

Never had that problem with my Sturgis... of course, every piece on it is painted black.

Oh well, I learned. It still looks like crap, but at least I don't worry about it!

Liberated! When used, toys get scratched. Scratches are character-building. Furthermore, it's now yours. Stop fretting.

The first one sucked but I forgot about it quickly. The second one is out of sight but still pisses me off because of the circumstance that caused it. Otherwise, it's a bike and it's meant to be ridden. It happened and it will happen again.

I was pissed - for about 2 minutes, then I had to ride so I forgot it.
