Good morning gentle, I was wondering if anyone had allot of touring bike seat fitment experience that I could get some advice from. I have an 02 Rk, old police bike and I really like the new seat from Le Pera called the Cherokee, but they only make it for 08 and up touring bikes, not road kings. I called Le Pera and they told me to buy the daytona..."its almost the same seat" well its not.
SO I would like to fit an 08 seat on my 02 but I don't want to 500$ bucks for seat that absolutely wont go on the bike.
I know the mounting bracketry has changed, I know that the gas tank has gotten bigger in 06.

does anyone know what would be involved in getting a later seat to fit? I can make any kind of brackets necessary. But if the seat is gonna stick up oer the gas tank or leave a three inch gap it won't be worth it.

anyone have experience with this?
also if anyone knows another company making a similiar seat for an 02 roadking I would live to check it out.

The tank got bigger in 08, so it's possible the seat had to get shorter, the frame changed in 09 so even more is different. I think the mods could be troublesome....The battery trays are different, the ECM moved to under the seat in 09 ( I think), I would save your money.
