H-D Intl. Stealer rant and oil advice......
#12
Recap....
Could not find a battery equivalent on the entire island of Bahrain. The closest was at the Sea-Doo dealer but the dimensions were too tall. So H-D got me on that one. Oil is easy to find (imagine that!) but MC oil is not that prevalent. That is why I asked the Yamalube question. My next alternative was to get some "C" rated diesel engine oil. Liqui-Moly seems to be a popular brand here in the Middle East. Thanks for the replies.....

HIgher prices are typical for international purchases. We must be a bit lucky here in Australia now but we payed through the nose when the aussie dollar was down.
Since early 2012 HD Australia knocked 17% off P&A thanks to the stronger dollar. I got a set of tyres installed $520 USD equivalent.
Bike purchases are a different story though, with import tax, govt. tax, registration ($1200) initially then $500/yr! and the tax on the tax it feels like.
Example-- new FLHTCU lists $36,500 but can deal it down to~$32,000 including on road registration as a end year run out!
