Default Road Glide engine guard removal questions

I'm finally getting around to powdercoating my engine guard on my SERG. I checked out the Service Manual and FLTRSE3 Supplement, but couldn't find the instructions specific to the Road Glide.

I can easily see there are the two bolts to the frame by the floorboards, and the one bolt on top to the frame. I see I also have to loosen/remove the Fairing Support Brackets.

My question is should I jack the bike up or leave it on the ground? I realize the fairing is still supported by brackets inside the fairing, but I fear if I jack the bike up, it may put too much weight on those brackets???

Anyone who's done this could let me know if I'm on the right track, or am I missing anything?

You can just pop those parts and off it comes. I had to do it to a bent engine guard on my FLTR, the new one just bolted right back up. No worries...

North Star , I don't think it matters , I have left my bike up on my jack for weeks with my blinkers off the bike and as you know the blinker bolts are what go through the fairing support bracket so basically the fairing support brackets were not doing anything and I had no issues
