Default 2009 FLHTP solo police seat removal and replacement

just picked up 2009 electra with police solo air ride seat. attempting to remove and not sure of what needs to be removed. i have the seat and plastic liner below the seat off, but not sure how to remove air bladder (not even sure where the battery is as this is my 1st electra). also the rear fender has a plastic plug in it where the rear seat bolt looks to go, is it already threaded or is an insert needed. thanks

The ECM is setting on top of the battery. Remove the ECM, then remove the plastic plate that it sat on with the two screws on each side of the air bag, one on each side. Remove the battery to get access to the two bolts that hold the air bag on, they're under the bag. Push and pull the hose connecter to remove the air hose. Remove the pivot bracket that the front of the seat was mounted too, and remove the air tank from under the luggage rack and your done.

My advice is to save the seat and related components. I went to a traditional solo seat when I first got my FLHP but it was nowhere near as comfortable as the cop seat. I ended up putting all of the cop seat stuff back on.

If your seat bladder is leaking you can always do a Kong conversion. Go to www.retiredpolicebikes.com - they have lots of good information relating to your bike.

Welcome!

Yeah you need an insert for the fender. It will be the cheapest part you ever buy for the bike! LOL.

Save all the cop stuff. When you sell it the buyer may really want it all.
