Default Aftermarket radio in road glide - need help

I just have one question for anyone with this issue. How are you protecting the radio during rain when using an aftermarket radio? I have seen several options but wanted to know what was best for me.

I had a nice pop out screen for my roadglide that unfortunately caught in some rain which in turn fried the unit.

Biketronics makes a splash cover that slips into the radio slot. NOTE-- Won't work with HD radio chrome trim.

I went with an Alpine marine head unit when I replaced my stock radio. No covers or anything like that. Going on 3 years no with no problems.

Thanks for the info. as for the alpine does it do navigation? This was my primary reason for getting a retractable screen.

Has anyone tested the Biketronics splash cover? Will it protect if a heavy amount of rain is hitting the bike?

No, it doesn't have navigation. I doubt you'd be able to use the retractable screen with one of the covers anyway. I think it would interfere with raising the screen into viewing position.

Yea, I wasn't expecting to use the cover while the screen was up, i just wanted to have something in case I'm riding through rain, and something to protect the stereo at night if i have to leave the bike outside.
