With the stock seat on my new 2012 SG I find I an just barely able to get my feet flat on the ground and this is with my riding boots on.
How much higher or lower would a sundowner seat be on my 2012 SG ?
Not trying to hijack your thread but this seemed like the correct place to ask this question.
Thanks

The Hammock seat makes my butt smile. Go to your HD dealer and try out their demo seats. Take yours off pick out a demo seat that you like and take a day's ride on it. If it's not what you want pick out another one. That's what the demo seats are there for. There is no way I would buy a seat unless I get to give it a good test ride.

Good luck!

another vote here for MCC. we are the same size , I got a big butt , best $150 I ever spent. took 1000 miles to get it broke in but now I ride until I need gas. I didnt think I would ever find a seat that I could do that with, let alone a stock seat with a $150 upgrade.

I had Russell build me a seat on a Harley Tallboy pan. FANTASTIC seat, and I've tried them all.

It's big, and supports the thighs, which elimates pressure on the tailbone. Add a George Anderson tourpak relocator kit to give your wife back the room she lost from the tallboy pan, and you will both be in heaven.

I give an A+ to MeanCity Cycle , i had them narrow and lower my stock FLHRC seat . So i could get my feet on the ground .
I had them add some memory foam for comfort .

SUPER THRIFTY !
Total coast INCLUDING Shipping both ways , just under $150.

I have heard good things about the HD hammock seats. With that said, I've never sat on one.

I have a Mustang Vintage Super Solo with the 13" passenger pillion. I like it alot. I'm 6'0" and about 200 lbs. The seat is all day comfortable and pushes me back about an inch from the stock seat.

The other seat you may look at is the Mustang Super Touring. Its really wide and pushes you back about 1.75". I think this seat is for the big man.

Good luck.

Just got the H-D Sundowner this year. Really like it with my Alaska Leather sheep skin. On my long rides it doesn't push on my tailbone like the stock seat. Now having said that, on a recent long road trip with the boss, she was not as comfortable with the Sundowner as she had been with the stock seat. The passenger part of the SD slopes toward the driver while the stock seat slopes back. When she is with me, we stop more so it won't be an issue for me to swap seats (one screw).

I would try a super reach seat, I believe it's a lowered sundowner....your dealer should have a demo to try...
