Vol and Mode/Sel buttons not working correctly
So after searching a bit and finding almost nothing that sounds like my issue (most results are about moving through preset stations, a feature most every automotive audio device, including my 1994 Pioneer cassette deck, can do but HK/HD can't figure out), I come bearing a question:
On my 2011 Street Glide (w/factory cruise, HK Advanced Audio, HK XM Module, HDPDPlus Gen I iPod controller), my volume button now feels the need to take on alternative duty, and will cause the radio (doesn't matter if it's FM, AM or XM) to go into scan mode- whenever I thumb it up or down, the radio goes into scan function, and the volume doesn't change. Also, now the Mode/SEL button will only go DOWN- that means that if I'm in XM, and want to change the preset from 37 two channels higher to 39, it isn't possible with the button- I have to punch the soft-button on the radio face.
These symptoms are somewhat intermittent. I had proper volume control most of my riding yesterday- then late last night it decided that the button should actually function as scan mode controller, and off it went. And again, the mode/SEL button was scanning up and down in my XM (luckily my three most-used stations are 37, 38 and 39), but then decided it was only for going down the list. It also will only scroll through the sources when I push down- which is not an inconvenience to me, but the station/track change only going down is. (Tracks will only go "back" when in iPod mode- haven't tried it in the CD mode). I've blasted some WD-40 in the switches, which seemed to help for a bit, but the symptoms return. This started occurring about 3 weeks ago- well before I swapped the bars for the Tallboys, so it's not related to the bar swap, and it started well AFTER the addition of the XM/HDPDPlus modules. My concern now is that even junking the HK, will the switches control the Biketronics or Hawg Wired modules properly? Luckily the bike is under warranty, but I'd like an idea of what to tell the dealer to look for since I'm 51 miles from them. Any ideas why BOTH sides of the bike would be screwy?
Thanks in advance.

Hey SG, some very knowledgeable and helpful folks in the “Audio” sub forum. I’d explain your symptoms there and see what shakes loose. Good luck and welcome to the Forum from Winnipeg Canada 🇨🇦
