I had been warned, once ridden twice bitten and unable to look back, the man was so right, he was talking of something else altogether but it fits here too.

I had been told they rode so much different, did not consider it, was warned it would ruin me to other scoots, the latter warning was ignored and here I am.

Does ride excellent, handles better it seems in wind currents, may look different but it has the heart of Harley, I am keeping this one.

Have 200+ miles on it now, fuel consumption is as expected around the 35mpg mark(first tank reload) but hopefully adjusting, the ride is great the wind is a little eerie in that it connects around my forehead at highway speeds so a replacement shield will probably occur, if I was 5'8" instead of 6'2" it would not be a issue, heard windvest is a good choice. Road time is a little different, hard to keep it under 80, have to monitor the indications moreso than the old RK as it just sneaks up on you, the tach is handy and at 75 I am kicking along at 2850+/-. The six speed is AWESOME!!!!

The two lane experience is better than expected, seems less 'top heavy' even with a fixed tour pak/fixed fairing than the old King or any batwing I have ridden. Feels real good on laying into corners and I feel more in control or self confident than on the old ride.

Talking

I went from a Softail and swore up until this year that I would never own a SharkNose. This year they started growing on me and I was told that they were going to be making some pretty good deals trying to get the 12s out for the 13s to come in..so I waited...went and test rode one and the next thing you know I am a member of the secret society known as the SharkTank. It will be hard to go from it after...I am definitely hooked.

Like someone said. "It must be the coffee" I did the same thing in May. Walked into the dealer to get oil change products for my 06 Road King "Not so classic" and 20 min later we were crunching numbers on a 2012 Deep Blue Pearl Road Glide Ultra.

I should have listened to my 5th sense when I was told "Come in on Sunday and bring your RK so we can give it a good look over before making you a trade offer"

Even sleeping on it didn't work. Sunday came and So did the RGU right off the line and into my driveway. At least the 14 hours in between gave me a chance to do my homework on the trade worth and the MSRP on the Glide. Figured I would go back educated and have my boxin gloves on. Well after nearly 1K more offered then KBB had my RK at and the nearly $800 under MSRP without even "bargaining" It was all over but the signatures.

GOD I SUCK!!!!!! But I am so happy being this SUCKER!!!! Best bike I have ever owned bar none!!!! And I really enjoy being in the "Ugly Crowd" And I stand out in a crowd also.

Good Luck with the RGU and yes the MODS have just begun

It is a sweet ride, no jostle around trucks, no wind push, it rides like a dream and smooth as glass. Put many major and minor mods on the King over the few years, loved that bike, swore I would never ever get on one of these then a buddy had one, let me ride it, I had to have one!! Kill me now, I can't control myself!!!

Upload isn't working photos later, vivid black with the rootbeer striping, full FLTRU, tourpak and lowers, just finished install on tourpak rack.
I try to stay away from the dealership when I get that itch. Congrats.

Congrats, now you have seen the light....

While this site is great for all things HD in general, you might want to try roadglide.org for RG specific things like wind shield road tests....
