Mine did the same thing. It was blowing the 15 amp memory fuse. As with several others on here the problem was a wire shorted in the wire harness about 6 inches before the radio where the bundle of wires contacts the fairing bracket. Found broken fairing brackets and I think that caused excessive vibration at that point. Look very closely to see the worn wire.

Well.. again.. the forum comes through. Earlier I checked the Radio fuse and that was fine, but you guys got me thinking, so I went back and found that the radio mem fuse was blown. A month ago I went through and replaced all the fuses since they were aging and didn't replace this one since I ran out of spares. So, the radio is back. I plan to check the harness for the wire issue anyway, it wouldn't hurt. Thanks again.

Good work, glad you found it!

I think the issue is definitely the short 6" in on the harness. I turned it on this morning and got lots of popping from the speakers when the motor is running. If I turn the wheel to the right, it's worse, all the way to the left and no issues. Now, when I run it in Access I don't seem to get the noise from the speakers when turning the wheel.
So, this weekend, I'll be taking the fairing off tracking down the problem.
I wouldn't mind an aftermarket upgrade as long as I could find one that can withstand rain and the occasional spray from the hose. I'd like to add satellite, but not at H-D prices.

Do you happen to know which wire it was? Color would be nice. .
