Default Question about stock 103" MPG

Hey all, loving my new 2011 FLHP, (leftover cop bike, never in service) got a couple thousand miles on it and wonder about the MPG. It has improved from 35 to around 38- 40 at most. I do get 38 mpg when cruising down the road at a steady 80mph, the best so far is 40 cruising backroads around 60. Goes down to 34 if I hammer along at 90 for extended period. Does this compare well with others that have a STOCK bike?
Please, I'm not looking for comments like "you gotta gut the cat and add..XYZ" Thanks!

All I have are slip ons and those are pretty much the numbers I get. Gotta ease up on the throttle if you want higher MPG's lol

you are doing really well at those speeds- the wind resistance is the challenge.

Agreed. Pretty typical IMO.

Mine is a mechanically stock 103. On my normal riding, a mix of back roads, state highways and some limited interstate riding, I have been averaging 42 mpg consistently for the 10,000 miles I've put on it since December (when I got it). This past weekend I took a trip to NY and Ohio that had a greater percentage of interstate riding (and thus 6th gear cruising) and I averaged around 45-46 mpg.

I track my gas mileage with an iPhone app. A 103" with Stage 1, usually riding two-up into and out of London every day - I'm getting a steady 45mpg.

My bike was only stock for about 500 miles before doing the stage 1 but during that time I got 36 mpg avg off 2 tanks.

Granted the bike was new so after break in it should have improved a little on its own but I did a stage 1 pipes, a/c and power vision and now avg mileage is 41 for everyday riding, long open roads cruising ill get 44 mpg. Im sure that Im sure that Im riding it harder than before
