Relocate air temp sensor 74419-96
Has anyone relocated their air temp sensor 74419-96 or 74419-96A in the batwing fairing to somewhere where it can actually touch outside air? While fixing a rattle in my batwing I came across the sensor and am thinking of extending the harness (or making an extension) and moving the sensor so it can get airflow and give a real reading for a change.
Any thoughts on this?

Hey Bulldog -- I was thinking about doing this also! I just got a 2012 Ultra Limited and it seems that the temp gauge always reads at least 90 degrees or more, regardless of the outside air temp. Granted, it's been around 90 during the day, but at night it's been dropping into the low 70s here. Keep us posted as to where you end up mounting the sensor and how well it works...

JMO, but an oil temp gage is almost as useless as the air temp gage.

couldn't figure out how to get the picture up so here is the link. Nav power cord went out on me so I had to use Plan B out of SF... LOL!
went digital and it is very accurate. Once in a while, it will not show due to bright sunlight but it is not often. Much much better than stock.
