Default tire size??

Will I notice much difference on my 2011 SG switching to a 21" front tire? Is the ride any different on long hauls?

Nothing? I'm going to change out my stock wheels and am thinking the 21" is the way to go for the front. I'm sure there are plenty of other threads on this topic, but thought I would get an updated opinion.

Any advice is appreciated!

Generally you will have a lower profile tire which equates to a rougher ride but the larger rolling circumference makes up for this in the most part from my experience with friends bikes, all in there is little difference in ride quality.

Currently you have two tire size choices with a 21". First is a 120: Thinner than stock you can catch more groves in the road and the load rating is less. As PS said it is also lower profile. I'm sure it's fine for around town.short trips, but I wouldn't want it for any real trips. Other choice is a 140: Wider tire, taller sidewall, and higher load rating, are all better than stock, but it makes your outer tire diameter so big you have to take almost 2 inches of travel out of your front suspension to keep geometry of the bike right.

I'd love to do the 140 if I could confirm a larger diameter tire on back that still allows for suspension travel.

So I guess I'm waiting for a 130 60 21 tire to be released but haven't heard anything about that happening.
