If you want a truly accurate compass, add a GPS unit.
I agree however, anythings better than a temp gauge that reads the temp inside the fairing(I want to meet the rocket scientist that came up with that idea)
I have a compass in my truck which is pretty much useless. I just ust the north star. J/k I see no need to know what direction I'm going. I always seem to get there.
Just suppose them Iranians or Koreans shoot one a them nuculear weapons over here and it blows up all the street signs. Don't you think the friggin compass would be good investment then??
Out of couriosity why not put a oil temp guage on? Isn't what most will replace that guage with?
Paul
I would go with the an oil temp gauge and it's cheaper than the compass. It's a more "informative" gauge IMHO. I would rather know what is happening with my ride, than where my ride is taking me.
The H-D compass is pain to install and align. Every time I disconnected the battery for whatever reason I had to realign the compass. The last time it just kept spinning so I put the air temperature gauge back in. Find something better to put in there like the oil temperature or radar detector.
