i did the oil temp gauge by Wally...lots easier to install than the HD unit...also very useful....i'm lookin for a nice outside ambient temp gauge to go on the handlebars....not a big dumbass one either, one that is small, silverfaced, and the is a half shell replacement for one of the handlebar controls

Compass, who needs it.. If it is dark I am going to work, if it is light I am going home.. When I am traveling the girlfriend is riding and she always is telling me where to go and where to get off.....

So who needs it.. I get there...

Since you asked, IM humble O with a finite amount of space you would want the most bang for your buck. A dependable oil guage would be my pick. A compass...? Do you have one in your cager?
Dude , we are in the 21st century! Stay safe and when it comes down to it...it's your coin.

I have the HD compass. It is not smooth. It jerks when it moves and hangs up on a direction. I now have a Garmin nuvi 350 gps. Wish I had bought the oil temp guage. I paid $159 for the compass. HD has them on clearance for $75. No one wants them anymore.

Get yourself a USMC lensatic compass and keep in the bottom of a bag. You can take it out when you sell your scoot.

Don't waste the time or money on the compass. I just did. There are 16 zones within the continental US and you have to recalibate the compass when you enter each zone. I thought that was crazy and called HD techs about this. Theyconfirmed the recalibration for each zone. The compass was hard enough to istall so I will just leave it. The sending units mounts to the rear left bag support so you have to thread the wiring from behind the fairing to there. Involves lifting up the gas tank.

I, too, almost bought the compass....Then I sobered up! GPS is the way to go. Plug that hole with a good oil temp gauge.
